Work: the context that continues
A Work is a persistent body of work: a project, initiative, investigation, feature, or meaningful objective. Keep the research, plans, decisions, files, and next steps that belong to it together. Good Work names describe what you’re trying to accomplish:- Elephas Teams Launch
- Website Redesign
- Customer Interview Research
- House Renovation
Task: an action inside a Work
A Task is a concrete action such as Investigate SSO options, Draft the launch email, or Request three contractor quotes. Tasks are saved in task lists within a Work. Each item can have a status, an owner, and a due date. Completing a Task does not mean the whole Work is finished.Add a task to investigate SSO options in the Elephas Teams Launch Work. This asks for an action item inside the existing Work. It does not ask for a new Work or Group. The size of an activity is not the only guide. A feature can deserve its own Work if it needs its own research, decisions, and continuing context. A small action within a larger objective usually fits as a Task.
Group: related Works together
A Group is an optional way to organize related Works. It might represent a product, client, business area, or theme: Elephas, Marketing, Acme, or Personal. Groups hold Works. Save Pages, Tasks, State, and other artifacts in a Work, rather than directly in a Group. A Work can belong to one Group or remain ungrouped; Groups do not nest inside other Groups.Workspace: the space you’re working in
A Workspace is the personal or team space containing your Works and Groups. If you have access to more than one, check which Workspace you’re using before saving or retrieving work. A connected AI session also works in a selected Workspace. Tell it which one you mean if there could be confusion. What lives inside a Work?
Artifacts are the saved pieces of useful work. State, Decisions, task lists, and Handoffs are artifact types too. They aren’t additional folders you must fill out. Activity shows changes around the Work. It helps you see what happened, while State explains where things stand now. Start with what helps you. A research Work might have a Page and a Table. A longer project might also benefit from State, Tasks, and Decisions.A quick way to choose
Grouping helps you organize; it does not by itself mean you have shared a Work with anyone. Check the sharing controls shown in the app before assuming someone can access a Work.
For roles and invitations, see work with your team and sharing and invitation links.
